Basic Amenities Are Right at Hand, The Rest Are Close as Well

A few minutes’ walk to the grocery, school and kindergarten, to the doctor or to a restaurant. Everything essential can be arranged directly in Vejprnice. And if you need to, you can take a commuter bus to reach the centre of Pilsen in twelve minutes.

Infrastructure for Families with Children

In addition to a nursery and a primary school, you will find a number of places for children's leisure activities at Vejprnice: a children's park with an inline track on the village green, a sports area near the school or tennis courts in the neighbourhood of the At the Crossroads project.

Down to the Square for Fresh Bread and Dumplings

The local shops are easy to fall in love with. Visit the U Pošty shop to pick up fresh bread and desserts from Sušice. Next door, Mrs. Procházková sells her excellent home-made dumplings, well-known to the visitors of the Pilsen farm product market.

Czech Post and a Bakery/Sweetshop

There is a Czech Post building in the village centre. While arranging official matters at the post office you can enjoy a visit to the bakery and sweetshop that is part of the same building. The bakery offers the popular Hořovice bread and fresh desserts.

Elementary School and Nursery

15 minutes’ walk from the new development you’ll find an elementary school for550 pupils and a nursery for212 children.

Bike path

There are several cycling routes through the village, which will lead you to Pilsen, Křimice, the Hracholusky dam or the Líň swimming pool. The newest one, Vejprnice-Skvrňany, which runs around Pekelný Pond, was nominated among the 22 buildings competing for the title of Building of the Year of the Pilsen Region 2020.

Old School Café and Kulíček Family Centre

The local café’s atmosphere and the desserts are known for miles around. Nearby the café is the Kulíček Family Centre with a mini-school and leisure-time activities for children and adults.

U Mottlů Restaurant

You will likely go to nearby Pilsen for your dinner experiences, but the local establishments offer good food as well, and local experts agree that the Mottles in Vejprnice are the place to go for a well-chilled, draft Pilsner.

Bus

There are several bus stops in the village, one will be added directly by the At the Crossroads area, and suburban buses can take you into Pilsen several times an hour.

A Children’s Park and an Inline Track

Right in the centre of the village, sheltered by mature trees, there is a modern playground and an inline skating track.

Meat and Sausages

A mobile shop from the Vojenice family butchery, which you may also know from the Pilsen farmers’ markets, regularly visits the village and stops next to the post every Tuesday morning. They offer meat from their own slaughter, sausages, salami and the famous Třemošenské smoked meats.

Formanka Restaurant

A local pub offering three ready-made meals a day, as well as pizza starting from 2 pm. The pub also offers a large hall for various social events.

Football Ground

Since 1929 this village has had its own football club, SK Slavia Vejprnice. Their modern football ground is good infrastructure for both “A” league matches and the training of the local juniors.

Tennis Courts

The tennis courts here belong to the local physical education organisation TJ Sokol, which also brings together volleyball, netball, hockey, table tennis and darts players.

Fresh Eggs

The local poultry farm shop offers fresh eggs every day.

Honey Vending Machine

Have you ever heard of a honey vending machine? Of course not! You likely won’t find one anywhere else. An enthusiastic bee keeper here has decided to sell his products in an unconventional way, and for a few coins a jar of honey will fall out of the machine whenever you want.

Vejprnice Train Station

You can ride from the Vejprnice train station to the Pilsen Main Station in just 10 minutes.

Go Explore All Around

In the forests nearby Vejprnice, you’ll often not come across a living soul for a whole day. But that’s not so true around Pekelský Pond and on the cycling path along Vejprnický Brook towards Skvrňany. It became a popular destination for walks soon after it was completed.

A Saturday Trip for the Whole Family

The Pilsen region’s renowned export products include not only its famous lager, but also Křimice cabbage, which you can buy on the chateau square.Right below the chateau you’ll find a pleasant tourist restaurant with a miniature golf course, offering fresh fish – including the option of fishing for your own dinner. A beautiful footpath will take you from there to the nearby Malesice, with a natural swimming pool. And within another 5 minutes’ walk there is a recreational area with a river beach, seating areas, an outdoor fireplace and a disc golf playground.

Swimming and Bathing

You can get to nearby Tlučná on foot down a hiking trail, along a cycling path or in five minutes by car.
The attraction of this trip – which needn’t wait for the weekend – is the village’s outdoor swimming pool and Baroque Grange restaurant with a wide range of dishes and a rich wine list.

A Swimming Pool and an Educational Path

South of Vejprnice, 5 km along the cycling path, you’ll find a swimming pool and the Líšně sports complex.
To spice things up after lounging on your blanket, you can walk the circular educational path, which will take you to an observation tower at the New Pond. The wetland created by flooding a sinkhole left by a former mine now serves as a nesting ground for many bird species. It’s full of fish, and you can watch many amphibian and insect species on the banks.

Afternoon Walk

The At the Crossroads locality borders a beautiful deep forest interlaced with peaceful paths and byways. If you want to give your trip a specific destination, the cycling path will take you after 2 km to the Sokolovna pub, a popular day-trip destination.
Their menu includes specialities of Czech and international cuisine. It has a children's playground and four tennis courts.

To the Zoo and the Dino Park

Every local knows Pilsen’s zoo and botanical gardens along with its dino park. This zoo, the second oldest in the Czech Republic, holds over 1,200 animal species, making it #1 nationwide in this respect.
From Vejprnice it is an 8 km bike trip, or you can cut the route in half by taking a train to Skvrňany.

For Curious Children and Their Adults

You know how trips sometimes end up with excited grown-ups and bored children? That won’t happen at the Technmania science centre and the 3D Planetarium next door!
Its clever “please DO touch” exhibits present science to children playfully and will easily entertain even grandparents accompanying them as well.
